What type of dermal filers are used for cheek augmentation?
Several types of fillers are currently available for cheek augmentation. At Medaesthetics® in Perth, we prefer using Carbohydrate Gel Fillers. We find them to be the safest, and deliver natural looking results when used correctly.
What is an 8-Point Lift?
An 8 Point lift is basically a dermal filler injection technique in which the filler gel is placed (injected) strategically in 8 key areas of the face to create a tissue lifting effect.
What are the potential side effects of dermal fillers when used for cheek augmentation?
Common side effects associated with dermal fillers are temporary swelling, and mild bruising of the area. We recommend all our patients to come off blood thinning products like aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil etc. Incorrect injecting techniques or using too much product by a novice cosmetic injector, may result in over-correction with unnatural looking cheeks. It is therefore important to choose an experienced cosmetic physician.
What are the other alternative treatments available to address volume loss in the face?
Stem-Cells-enriched Fat Grafting is an excellent and longer lasting alternative to Dermal Fillers. To read more about Fat Grafting please click here..
How much does it cost?
The cost of dermal fillers depends on the amount used per session and the area being treated. Each patient is unique and requires different amounts and types of fillers. This is assessed during the initial consultation with the treating doctor. A treatment is mapped out for each client and the cost can be assessed at this time.
