Otoplasty (Ear-pinning) is a cosmetic surgical procedure performed to pin back or improve the shape and size of protruding ears. The Otoplasty procedure is also referred to as Cosmetic Ear Surgery.

Dr. Jadoon has extensive experience performing Otoplasty procedures in Perth and Sydney, and has been refining his technique since 2011.

I prefer Otoplasty procedures which do not require hospitalisation. If a patient has needs beyond that type of procedure I will recommend a more suitable practitioner.

Treatment Summary – Otoplasty

Patient Suitability

The treatment is suitable for all adults with sound physical and mental health and a healthy lifestyle.
Treatment is not suitable for patients with body dysmorphic traits, emotionally volatile personalities, and unrealistic expectations.

Procedure Time

1-3 hours

Discomfort Level

Minimal to no discomfort once the treatment area is anaesthetised using local anaesthetic.

Recovery Time

10-14 days of initial healing.
A head bandage is applied for the first 72 hours.

Results

Results are noticeable instantly but continue to improve over time as the swelling settles and sutures are taken out.

Duration of Results

Permanent.

Resumption of Usual Activities

72 hours of complete rest after the procedure;
Light activities such as light house chores are allowed after 72 hours;
Walking is allowed after 3- 5 days;
Gym & Strenuous activities not allowed for a minimum of 3 weeks.

What Is Otoplasty?

Otoplasty (Ear Pinning) is a cosmetic surgical procedure aimed to improve the shape or position of one or both ears.

Unilateral Otoplasty

Some patients have one ear which is protruding more than the other. They are concerned with the shape and position of just one ear.

For such patients, we can perform unilateral (one-sided) ear-pinning surgery.

Post Surgical Follow Up

Complimentary follow-ups are included for all cosmetic surgery patients until they have fully healed.

The Pain Factor

Our highly experienced clinical team does their utmost to minimise any treatment-associated pain or discomfort. Fine motor skills and a gentle pair of hands are important assets for any clinician.

Depending upon the type of procedure being performed, we use high-strength topical numbing cream, inhalation (laughing) gas, local anaesthesia as well as skin-cooling device to make the procedure as tolerable as possible.

As per new AHPRA & Australian Medical Board guidelines, all cosmetic surgery patients will require a GP referral to have a cosmetic surgery consultation.

All cosmetic patients will require a psychological assessment to rule out body dysmorphia before undergoing any cosmetic surgery.
