Fat Dissolving Injections Perth

Any adult male or female with excess fat deposits under the chin may consider having this treatment done. It is important to understand that this treatment is not meant to correct loose neck skin. Patients with excess skin may not be suitable candidates and may consider other treatment options we have. It’s also important to avoid certain medications (e.g. blood thinning medications) prior to treatment.

Caution should be used when Belkyra injection is administered in patients who have had prior surgical or aesthetic treatment of the submental area. The area to be treated is first anaesthetised using high strength topical numbing cream and local anaesthetic. Once entirely numb, a tiny needle is used to inject small quantities of the product into the fat under the skin. The whole treatment roughly takes about 30 minutes.

Most patients tolerate the procedure reasonably well. At Medaesthetics we perform this treatment only once the area is first numbed using strong numbing cream and local infiltration anaesthesia.

Patients may experience a mild to moderate degree of tenderness and swelling in the treated area for a few days after fat dissolving treatment.

We recommend oral painkillers such as Panadol and ice packs to manage this.

As mentioned above, some patients experience a varying degree of discomfort, swelling, redness and bruising in the treated area.

This can last for up to 5 days, but icing the treated area helps to reduce the swelling quickly.

Most patients see a visible improvement in the treated area three to four weeks after the treatment.
