General Information – Microneedling / Skin Needling via Dermapen

What Does Skin Needling Do?

A Dermapen gently glides over the treatment area creating millions of fine, vertical channels of micro-injury in the skin.

These micro-injury channels in the dermis trigger a natural healing response by triggering specialised cells called fibroblasts. Fibroblasts then start producing fresh collagen and elastin resulting in firmer, plumper, and radiant skin.

Dermapen Skin Needling Benefits

Dermapen technology has significant benefits over manual dermal rolling devices.

This is because Dermapen utilises far more sophisticated Microneedling technology than any other handheld skin-rolling devices.

With Dermapen, the size, and depth of the needles can be changed to suit patients’ clinical requirements and downtime concerns.

DIY Dermal Rollers vs Dermapen

The home care derma-rollers devices are not a replacement for In-clinic skin needling treatment. However, using these devices at home does help in maintaining youthful skin.

Patient Suitability

Microneedling is suitable for adult men and women of any age.

The Pain Factor

Our highly experienced clinical team does its utmost to minimize any treatment-associated pain or discomfort. Having fine motor skills and a gentle pair of hands are important assets for any clinician performing Microneedling.

Depending upon the type of procedure being performed, we use high-strength topical numbing cream, inhalation (laughing) gas, local anaesthesia as well as a skin cooling device to make the procedure as tolerable as possible.

Dermapen also allows us to infuse specialised skin rejuvenating serums deep into the skin for added clinical benefits.

It is important to understand that treatments which are not medically supervised and are performed at most franchised laser salons, cannot deliver the same level of results and safe clinical outcomes that specialised medical & dermatology clinics like MedAesthetics are able to offer. It is, therefore, vital that you choose your treatment provider based upon their experience and reputation and not just on marketing hype or discount pricing.

Selecting the Right Cosmetic Treatment Provider

Making the decision to proceed with a cosmetic treatment can often feel overwhelming. It’s crucial to choose a clinician who not only has the necessary skills but also the sensitivity to understand and address your concerns effectively.

When selecting your provider, look for a professional who prioritizes communication, patient care, and thorough understanding over simple cost-cutting. Remember, investing in quality care is paramount, as the old adage “you get what you pay for” often holds true in cosmetic treatments.

Our Ethical Standards

At MedAesthetics, our treatments are administered by a seasoned team of medical doctors, Registered Nurses, and Dermal Clinicians, ensuring high standards of care and professionalism.

We utilize cutting-edge medical technology and adhere strictly to our detailed treatment protocols.
