Dermamelan® is a professional depigmentation program that aims to improve the appearance of uneven skin tone, particularly in cases of hormonal pigmentation (melasma). It works by targeting the visible signs of hyperpigmentation and helping to promote a clearer, more uniform complexion over time.

While melasma commonly affects females of child-bearing age, it can also occur in men and individuals of varying skin tones. The Dermamelan® system is designed to be suitable for diverse skin types under the guidance of a trained clinician.

Melasma usually affects females of child-bearing age. It is generally more prevalent in people with darker skin types but can also affect lighter skin individuals. Men can also suffer from Melasma.

Number of Treatments

A single in-clinic session, complemented by a 4-month prescribed homecare protocol.

Approximately 30–60 minutes.

A topical anaesthetic is applied to minimise discomfort, though individual sensitivity may vary.

Recovery Time

Mild peeling and redness typically occur for 3–5 days following treatment.

Results

Skin clarity and texture may appear improved after the skin has fully healed.

Maintenance and results depend on adherence to the homecare program and ongoing sun protection.

Resumption of Usual Activities

Most daily activities can resume immediately, avoiding direct sun exposure and chlorinated water until healing is complete.
